Trying a martial art for the first time can feel intimidating. That is why our women’s-only classes are designed to provide a comfortable, welcoming and judgement-free place to begin.

You will learn practical Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques while improving your fitness, coordination and confidence. Our coaches will guide you through each stage, allowing you to learn at a pace that feels right for you.

Most importantly, you do not need any previous martial arts experience or a particular level of fitness. You simply need to come along and give it a try.

What to Expect When You Arrive

We keep your first experience simple, friendly and relaxed.

Meet Your Coach

Arrive a few minutes early and we will introduce you to your coach, show you around and answer any questions.

Learn the Fundamentals

The class will begin with a warm-up followed by clear, beginner-friendly techniques demonstrated step by step.

Practise with a Partner

You will practise the techniques safely with another student while the coaches provide guidance and support.

Progress at Your Pace

There is no pressure to do anything you are not ready for. You can take part at a level that feels comfortable.

Are these classes exclusively for women?

Yes. These sessions are women’s-only and have been created to provide a comfortable and supportive training environment.

Can I join without any martial arts experience?

Absolutely. Most people begin with no previous martial arts experience. Our coaches will introduce the fundamentals and guide you throughout the class.

Do I need to be fit before starting?

No. Jiu-Jitsu will help you build your fitness gradually. You can train at your own pace and take breaks whenever needed.

What should I wear to my first class?

Wear comfortable sports clothing such as leggings and a T-shirt. Avoid clothing with zips, buttons or anything that could catch during training.

Do I have to take part in sparring?

No. There is no pressure to take part in anything you are not ready for. Your coach will explain each part of the session and help you progress safely.

Can I also attend mixed adult classes?

Yes. Our unlimited membership includes access to the broader adult Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu timetable as well as the women’s-only sessions.
